Effect of growth regulators on the incidence of malformation and sex expression in mango.

Abstract : GA or NAA at 50, 100 or 150 p.p.m. were sprayed onto 10-year-old mango trees cv. Dashehari with malformed panicles. NAA was more effective in reducing the percentage of malformed panicles, from over 50% in the unsprayed controls to approximately 10% with NAA at 150 p.p.m. The sex ratio of staminate: hermaphrodite flowers was reduced from 5.82:1 in the control to 2.49:1 and 2.63:1 in the 150 p.p.m. treatments of NAA and GA, respectively.
