Abstract : The genetic similarity of 36 mango cultivars from seven countries was analyzed using SSR markers. The aim was to provide genetic basis for mango breeding. With 15 SSR primers, a total of 86 alleles were detected among these mango cultivars with 5.733 3 alleles per pair of primers on average. Primer mMiCIR024 produced the most alleles (11) and mMiCIR028 had the fewest alleles (3). The genetic similarity among mango cultivars from different countries was ranged from 0.215 4 to 0.910 8. Based on the SSR markers, all the cultivars were divided into seven groups with a threshold similarity coefficient of 0.66 3. The results indicated that the genetic similarity indexes among the mango cultivars had a close relationship with the geographical origin.
