Effect of thiabendazole and Ethrel on ripening and stem-end rot of mango cv. Padiri.

Abstract : In trials with different rates and combinations of Ethrel [ethephon] and/or thiabendazole, the best control (100%) of stem-end rot [Botryodiplodia theobromae] was obtained with thiabendazole at 0.1% + Ethrel at either 2500, 5000 or 7500 p.p.m. Fruit ripened within 5 days after treatment with Ethrel at 7500 p.p.m. and within 6 days after treatment with thiabendazole + Ethrel at 5000 p.p.m. The control fruit took 10 days to ripen.
