Abstract : The treatment KNO3 @ 3 per cent recorded significantly maximum number of fruit set panicle-1 (21.44 fruits) followed by thiourea @ 0.25 per cent (18.66 fruits) and KNO3 @ 5 per cent (17.36 fruits) per panicle which were on par in pooled mean. The maximum yield was observed in the treatment KNO3 @ 3 per cent (3.711 ha-1) followed by thiourea @ 0.25 per cent (3.47 t ha-1). The maximum acidity was found in treatment KNO3 @ 3 per cent (0.50 per cent). Significantly maximum ascorbic acid was found in the treatment. Thiourea @ 0.50 per cent (68.52 mg 100-1 g) followed by KNO3 at the rate of 3 per cent (67.82 mg 100- g). Significantly maximum ?-carotene was observed in NH4NO3 @ 3 per cent treatment (15651.25 µg 100-1 g) followed by thiourea @ 0.25 per cent and 0.50 per cent (15621.04 and 14495.54 µg 100-1 g) and were on par.
