Abstract : In studies with the mango cv. Banganpalle, B9 [daminozide] or MH each at 1000, 3000, 5000 or 7000 p.p.m. were applied to shoots of the September flush. The treatments increased shoot diameter and delayed the appearance of the subsequent flush from 35 days in the control to 52-119 days (B9) and 90-114 days (MH). The treatments also increased the number of flowering shoots from 27% in the control to 60% in trees treated with MH at 5000 p.p.m. and to 66% in those treated with B9 at 7000 p.p.m.
