Effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on vegetative growth characters of mango (Mangifera indica L.) variety Chausa.

Abstract : Urea and P2O5, each at 2 or 4%, were sprayed on Chausa mango trees on 26 December, 26 April and again on 26 August. Data are tabulated on the length and dry weight of terminal shoots and the number of leaves produced by the trees in on and off years. The longest and heaviest terminal shoots and largest number of leaves were obtained in all cases at the higher urea + P level.
