Abstract : Seeds of the mango cv. Uba were stored for 0-28 days (a) whole, (b) with the apical part of the endocarp removed, (c) apical and basal parts removed or (d) the entire endocarp removed. In the (b), (c) and (d) variants the seeds were dipped for 5 min in 0.1% Neantin [methoxy mercuric chloride] solution before sowing. Non-stored seeds with treatment (d) gave the highest percentage of germination (97.5) and produced the tallest 2-month-old plants (20.6 cm) with the greatest number of leaves. Treatment with fungicide increased emergence by 7%.
