Abstract : An experiment was carried out at the Agricultural Research Agency of Rio Grande do Norte State (EMPARN) in the local authority of Ipanguaçu, Brazil, to determine the behaviour of scion cultivars grafted on different rootstocks. A randomized block, experimental design in a 3×4 factorial scheme with three replicates was used. Carabao and Manga D'Agua (water mango) cultivars from the Agronomic Institute of Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and cultivars Rosinha and Espada from the EMPARN mango collection were used as the rootstocks; while Tommy Atkins, Van Dyke and Keitt, from the EMPARN mango collection were used as the scions. For 30 months at 6-month intervals, the rootstock and scion diameters, and plant height were measured. Manga D'Agua rootstocks showed the least plant growth and Tommy Atkins scions resulted in the tallest plants.
