Abstract : Survey was conducted to record occurrence and severity of decline disease complex on different mango varieties in Sindh, Pakistan. The results indicated that the diseased mango trees developed symptoms like oozing out of gum from bark, tip dieback, decaying of barks, vascular discolouration of wood in stem, roots, branches and finally sudden wilt of foliage, partial or full sudden decline of branch or even the whole tree. The results further showed that mango orchards in all the surveyed districts of Sindh were suffering from the disease. The mean disease incidence for all the districts was 6.72%. Maximum disease incidence occurred in Hyderabad (8.83%) followed by Tando Allahyar (7.66%) and Mirpurkhas (7.50%); whereas, minimum in Naushahro Feroze (3.92%) and Khairpur (3.98%). The mean disease severity for all the districts was 35.33%. Maximum disease severity also occurred in Hyderabad (52.72%) followed by Tando Allahyar (43.6%) and Mirpurkhas (42.00%); whereas, minimum in Naushahro Feroze (22.81%) and Khairpur (23.33%) respectively. The results further revealed that all of 14 different mango varieties were affected by the disease. Maximum mean disease incidence occurred on indigenous (Desi) variety (16.39%) followed by Sindhri (11.28%) and Langara (10.89%); whereas, minimum on Swarnarika (5.57%), Almas (6.26%) and Anwar Ratole (7.81%). Maximum mean disease incidence on all varieties occurred at Rahooki (9.55%) followed by Tandojam (9.11%) and Khesano Mori (8.60%). The overall mean disease incidence for all localities and varieties was 9.08%. Maximum mean disease severity also occurred on indigenous (Desi) variety (56.30%) followed by Sindhri (50.29%) and Langara (48.82%); whereas, minimum Swarnarika (24.14%) followed by Almas (24.58%) and Anwar Ratole (28.33%). Maximum mean disease severity on all varieties also occurred at Rahooki (41.69%) followed by Tandojam (40.44%) and Khesano Mori (40.02%). The overall mean disease severity for all varieties and localities was 40.72%.
