Abstract : This study evaluated the physico-chemical characteristics of fruits of 10 mango cultivars collected from the Gangetic Old Alluvial (Jhargram) and Red Lateritic zone (Ratua) of West Bengal, India, during 1998-2000. 'Himsagar' gave the highest fruit yield and the best quality at Jhargram, whereas 'Langra' gave the highest fruit yield and the best quality at Ratua.
