Abstract : Experiments were conducted in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, during 2001-03 to study the effect of anti-malformins (glutathione and ascorbic acid), NAA and urea on floral morphology, phenol and protein content of healthy and malformed panicles of mango cv. Amrapali. The maximum percent of developed ovary and minimum number of underdeveloped and multilocular ovary were recorded with NAA (200 ppm) treatment. The percent of developed ovary was relatively very less in malformed panicles. The total phenol content in healthy panicle was relatively less than that of the malformed panicle but the content of antifungal phenol was more in healthy panicle and maximum with the application of 200 ppm NAA. Further, the total protein content was more in malformed panicle than that of healthy panicle.
