Abstract : The relationship between leaf area and linear dimensions in Allium tuberosum, Alocasia indica, Brassica juncea (cv. Rogusa) and dwarf mango (cv. Heinou Khongnembi) was studied and used as basis for the development of a nondestructive, efficient and reliable method for leaf area estimation in intact leaves. The product of the length and width was the most reliable, as both parameters recorded the highest values of correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination for all crops. The equation based on leaf dry weight was not practicable as it required the leaves to be detached from the plant.
