Abstract : In older private gardens, on former village lands and along waysides in Singapore, species other than varieties of the Indian mango (Mangifera indica) can still be found. Fruits of these mangoes may be familiar to the older generation but few people nowadays know these trees or their fruits. This paper describes some important morphological (tree, flower, leaf) and fruit quality characteristics of the following less-known cultivated in Singapore: kuini (M. odorata), bachang (M. foetida), binjai (M. caesia) and rawa (M. griffithii).
