Abstract : A protocol was developed to establish a nondestructive method capable of defining the development stages of mango (cv. Tommy Atkins) fruits. Data were recorded for fruit dry (DM) and fresh matter (FM) weights, volume, and dorsal, ventral and longitudinal diameters at 32, 46, 60, 74, 82, 89, 96 and 103 days after full flowering. The longitudinal, ventral and dorsal diameters were used as a new variable. There was a high coefficient between FM and volume. FM and volume were highly correlated with ventral, dorsal and longitudinal diameters. The correlation coefficient between DM and ventral, dorsal and longitudinal diameters was 0.94.
