Mechanical nondestructive means for fruit's quality assessment.

Abstract : This paper presents an outline of state-of-the-art nondestructive texture evaluation methods for classification and quality control of fruits and vegetables developed during the last three decades. The paper focuses on quality detection by fruit response to several mechanical nondestructive techniques. The techniques and their basic principles are explained. Results of using the methods on apples, melons, mangoes and other fruits, are given.
