Abstract : Studies conducted during 1998 and 1999 in the mango belt of Faizabad (Chirra Jaganpur, Rampur and Kumaranj) in Uttar Pradesh, India revealed that the mango leaf webber (O. euadrusalis) is responsible for quite poor flowering and fruiting of mango. The highest level of infestation was recorded for Deshahri, which is the predominant cultivar in the area, while the lowest pest incidence was recorded for the late cultivar Fazli. Older trees (45 years) showed a higher degree of damage than younger ones (25 and 10 years). High-density orchards (5 m between plants) were more severely affected by the pest than low-density orchards (10 m between plants).
