Abstract : The fruits of 31 mango genotypes were collected in Bihar, India and planted along with the control cultivars, Langra and Bombai, in a field in 1985 for evaluation of crop quality. The physical and biochemical attributes of fruits from these plants were studied in 1997 and 1999. Of the 31 cultivars, Collection number 20/80 showed suitability for consumption in terms of high total soluble solids content, total sugars and ascorbic acid content during ripening. Collection numbers 16/79, 25/80 and 15/79 were suitable for processing purposes with their high pulp and stone ratio.
