Abstract : The performance of twelve varieties was studied over the period 1970-1971. Wide varietal differences were observed for panicle emergence as well as time to flowering. Safeda Lucknow was the highest-yielding variety. The data indicate that Samar Bahist Chausa, Kaitki Bihar, Fajari, Neelum, Safeda Lucknow and Taimurya are most promising for yield and quality.
