Abstract : The effect of paclobutrazol on the flowering and yield of mango cv. Alphonso has been investigated since 1987 in Maharashtra, India. Thirty-two paclobutrazol-treated and 113 untreated mango trees were compared. Tabulated data on the comparative economics (including input and labour costs) of paclobutrazol application, obtained during 1988-89, indicate that paclobutrazol application is highly cost-effective.
