Abstract : A survey was carried out during 1989-91 in 2 mango orchards in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, to investigate the presence of fruit flies which were able to finish their reproductive cycle on mangoes. Polyethylene traps, containing sugarcane syrup and mango fruit juice were used, and 1310 specimens were captured. Species included Anastrepha barbiellinii, A. bistrigata, A. dissimilis, A. fraterculus, A. obliqua, A. pseudoparallela, A. serpentina, A. sororcula, and Ceratitis capitata. A. fraterculus, A. obliqua and C. capitata were able to finish their reproductive cycle on fruits.
