Abstract : Fruits from six mango (Mangifera indica) cultivars (Haden, Keitt, Van Dyke, Manguito, Rosa and Espada) were evaluated for their reaction to three isolates of Botryodiplodia theobromae (ISO1, ISO2 and ISO3) from different sites in the northeastern region of Brazil. The inoculation was carried out by placing a BDA disk and structures of the pathogen on fruits which had been mechanically damaged. After 72 hours, a print of the lesion was obtained on transparent plastic film and its area measured (mm˛). On the basis of these results, Espada and Manguito were resistant to the three isolates tested and ISO2 (Petrolina-PE) caused the largest lesions.
