Abstract : Yield and economic viability of a 6-year-old mango orchard (cv. Langra) was evaluated under intercropping during 1991-92 at ZARS, Sarkanda, Bilaspur (M.P.). Results revealed that intercropping with okra in kharif, gram in rabi and then okra in summer induced high levels of fruit drop in mango but it gave additional monetary returns from the intercrops. Intercropping with chilli as a long duration annual crop or soyabeans in kharif and chilli in rabi produced more fruit drop than on mangoes grown alone, but the intercrops enhanced the profits.
