Abstract : An irrigation system for mangoes was evaluated at the farm level in Pernambuco, Brazil. A mobile spray system was used with nozzle diameter 3.8 mm. The efficiency of application was 35.60 and 59.68%, with sprays situated at 1/3 and 2/3 intervals from the start of the row, respectively. Irrigation was suspended from the beginning of April 1991 until 24 May 1991. The crop was then irrigated at intervals of 7-10 days and evapotranspiration potential was estimated. Drainage within the soil was monitored.
