Studies on the effect of seedling age and different methods of stone grafting on the success of mango grafts cv. Amrapali under Varanasi condition.

Abstract : In 1993-94 and 1994-95, defoliated scions of mango cv. Amrapali were wedge/cleft, veneer or side grafted onto 7-, 14-, 21- or 28-day-old rootstock seedlings. Graft take was highest from veneer grafting and on 14-day-old rootstocks. However, the high mortality rate indicated that all these methods of stone grafting are unsuitable for Varanasi conditions.
