Abstract : Incidence of Chlumetia transversa was recorded on young grafted nursery plants as well as on 3- and 7-year-old mango trees (cv. Dushehari) during 1994 in Paonta valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. Percentage infestation by the insect varied from 43.3 to 57.7 in young grafted plants and 42.3 to 50 among different aged trees. Cypermethrin (0.005%) provided the highest decrease incidence of the pest in trials of 1994 and 1995, over control followed by fenvalerate (0.005%). Pruning + monocrotophos 0.05% was an effective integrated treatment which significantly reduced pest incidence. Pruning alone as physical treatment failed to give any satisfactory decrease in insect incidence.
