Abstract : Activity of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase increased with development of fruits on the trees; that of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase decreased as the fruits ripened. Activity of all 3 enzymes in the peel of banana infected latently with C. musae and mango with C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] was higher than in healthy fruits.
