Abstract : Isolates of C. musae from banana fruits and C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] from mango fruits with latent infection showed inhibition of growth and development when treated with suitable concn of tannin, resorcinol, catechol, chlorogenic acid and caffeine. These phenols are among the factors inhibiting infection of unripe fruits.
