Abstract : Mango cv. Dashehari trees (28 years old) were supplied with 1000 g N + 500 g P2O5 + 1000 g K2O per tree as soil applications and/or 0.6% N + 0.6% P2O5 + 1.0% K2O as foliar applications. In addition, some trees were also supplied with micronutrients (soil application of 250 or 500 g each of copper sulfate, zinc sulfate and borax or foliar application of these 3 compounds at 0.2, 0.4 and 0.4%, respectively, or at double those rates; micronutrient treatments also included hydrated lime). All soil applications were made in 2 equal doses in Sep.-Oct. and Jan.-Feb. and foliar applications were made during Sep.-Oct. and at the pea stage of fruit growth. Leaf nutrient status (N, P, K, Ca and Mg contents) and root CEC [cation exchange capacity] were measured. Overall, the highest values were obtained with the combination of soil and foliar NPK application plus the higher rates of soil-applied micronutrients.
