Abstract : Agronomy and chemical disease control methods used in the West Indies are described. The most common diseases are anthracnose (Colletotricum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]), mango scab (Elsinoe mangiferae) and powdery mildew (Oidium spp.). The most popular cultivars are Buxton Spice and Blackman (in Guyana), Starch, Doux Doux, Zabricot, Calabash, Teen and Cream (in Trinidad and Tobago), Ceylon, Peach and Grosbeck (in Grenada), Imperial (in St Vincent), Père Louis and Graham (in St Lucia), Amoury Polly (in St Kitts Nevis), and Tommy Atkins, Zill, Sensation and Haden (in Jamaica).
