Abstract : In Nov. 1987, 19 Brazilian and foreign mango varieties on Rosinha rootstock were planted. Production, fruit quality and tree development were evaluated from 1990. Floral biology and fruit set were also assessed. Cultivars evaluated were Zill, Tommy Atkins, Keitt, Surpresa, Parvin, Pavâo, Amrapali, Santa Cruz, Palmer, Dixon, Espada Ouro, Fascell, Okrung, Florigon, Van Dyke, Glenn, Torbet, Davis Haden and 14/51. In relation to production and tree growth, some conclusions were drawn after 2 harvests. The most productive cultivars were Parvin, Zill, Dixon, Florigon and Davis Haden. Tree growth varied greatly among cultivars. Parvin was one of the best in terms of fruit quality. Surpresa, Amrapali and Palmer also had good quality.
