Abstract : Three rates of K fertilizer (0, 500 or 1000 g tree-1 year-1) were applied to mango cv. Hindi-Be-Sinnara trees on a clay-loam soil, by either soil or foliar application. Neither K rate nor method of application had any significant effect on vegetative growth characters, panicle length or peduncle diameter, number of hermaphrodite flowers/panicle or fruit or seed weight. However, fruit number per tree, fruits per panicle and fruit juice TSS concentration increased with K application rate. K application rate and method had no clear effect on the leaf N and P contents, but leaf K content increased with K application rate (by either soil or foliar application).
