Abstract : With reference to fruit crops, consideration is given to: pollen collection; pollen viability assessment; storage conditions; retrieval and the subsequent testing of pollen viability and genetic stability; and management of cryobanks. The preservation of pollen from Citrus, grapes, mangoes and Carica papaya is described.
