Physico-chemical studies of some varieties of mango grown at Shujabad.

Abstract : The fruit of 32 varieties of mango, grown at Shujabad, were physico-chemically analysed. Heaviest fruit in cultivar 'Fajri' (460.0 g), followed by 'Samar Bahisht Chaunsa' (389.0 g), least peel (10.6 to 10.8%) in 'Baganpalli', 'Wadia Muna Syed' and 'Swarnareeka', smallest stone in 'Pohilot' (7.6%) and maximum pulp in 'Baganpalli' (79.4%) were recorded. Whereas, highest TSS (27.5%) and vitamin C contents (1802 mg/100 g) were found in varieties; 'Ghulab Khas' and 'Sanglakhi', respectively. The cultivar 'Tamuria' excelled all other varieties with minimum of 0.20% acidity.
