Effect of benlate spray, biological antagonists and time of deblossoming on malformation of mango inflorescence.

Abstract : To study the incidence of malformation of mango inflorescence two experiments were laid out which included the treatments of benlate spray (250 g/500 l water) and biological antagonists (Trichoderma harzianum and Aspergilus flavus) applied both separately and in combination with benlate on 12 fully bearing trees of mango cultivars, Dusehri and Bangan Pali and deblossoming treatments at bud burst stage to four trees of Dusehri mango. Benlate in both cases when sprayed alone and in combination with biological antagonists gave better results in reducing malformation intensity. Deblossoming done both in mid and late February resulted in minimizing the incidence of malformed panicles as compared with control. However, there was no significant effect on the improvement of fruit setting over control.
