Abstract : This book is written at the advanced high school/ university undergraduate level, and presents the basic principles of the agronomy of tropical tree crops. There are 19 chapters. The first 6 discuss the general environment and basic principles and practices in the cultivation of tree crops. Chapters 7-16 present data on the origin, spread, habitat, botany, cultivation, pests and diseases, and processing of cocoa, kola, coffee, citrus, latex producing plants (mainly rubber), cashew, oil palm, coconut, mango and tea. Chapter 17 describes under- and un-exploited tropical forest tree species. Chapter 18 discusses the origin, spread, cultivation and processing of sugarcane. The last chapter discusses the future of tropical tree crops in the international economy.
