Effects of platform bench terraces on the growth and yield of mango and cashew grafts.

Abstract : The effect of platform bench terraces on the growth and yield performance of mango and cashew was investigated over 2 years at Wakawali, Maharashtra State in India on highly permeable and acidic soils. Better growth and yield for both crops was observed with platform bench terraces and this is attributed to increased moisture content found in the root zone of plants provided with platform bench terraces. Favourable benefit-cost ratios indicate that platform bench terraces increase farmers income.
