Tropical fruit production in subtropical Taiwan.

Abstract : Different methodologies for improving fruit production by reducing the vegetative phase and inducing flowering in the major tropical crops of Taiwan (oriental pears [Pyrus pyrifolia], guavas, carambolas, mangoes, grapes and wax apples [Eugenia javanica]) are discussed. A hypothesis for controlling the timing of durian production by irrigation is also presented.
