Abstract : Mature mango trees, cv. Sensation, were ringed just above the base of the subterminal flush, and the ringed portions of the shoots were enclosed in either black or clear polyethylene containing sphagnum peat. Five months later 33% of the air-layers enclosed in black plastic had rooted, compared with only 7% of those in clear plastic.
