Abstract : Young grafted mango trees, cultivars Tommy Atkins, Sensation, Zill, Kent, Keitt and Irwin, grown in pots in the nursery, were sprayed with Promalin (GA4+7 and BA) at 300 p.p.m. a.i. 3 times at weekly intervals, starting on 30 May. Lateral branching was not induced by treatment, and none of the trees flowered. Possible factors affecting these results are mentioned, including the fertilization schedule, apical dominance and the time of year the sprays were applied.
