Comparative studies on sex distribution of some mango varieties "Mangifera indica L." under Assiut conditions.

Abstract : Three varieties were evaluated in both their on and off years for the distribution of flowers on the panicle and flower production/panicle during the spring, summer and autumn growth cycles of 1986 and 1987. The highest percentage of flowers occurred at the panicle apex in Hindi Bisinnara and Pairi and at the basal region in Golek. The latter had the highest percentage flowers/panicle. All varieties produced a higher percentage of flowers/panicle in their on year and during the spring growth cycle.
