Abstract : A sucrose solution of specific gravity 1.18 at 20°C, centrifugation time of 30 sec at 1800 g was by far the best method for the extraction of Aceria aloinis from malformed aloe inflorescences. The technique was applied for the extraction of Aceria mangiferae from mango inflorescences without further modifications. A major advantage of this technique is that the number of eggs and gravid females can be assessed which allows population tendencies to be predicted.
