Frequent outbreaks of Cricula trifenestrata Helfer (Lepidoptera, Saturniidae) on mango.

Abstract : Larvae of Cricula trifenestrata were recorded defoliating mango trees at a site in Tamil Nadu, at an altitude of 1097 m. This is the first record of the saturniid on mango in India. The parasitoid Xanthopimpla konowi was reared from pupae. Infested mango plants were sprayed with 0.05% endosulfan and parathion-methyl against the saturniid.
