Inoculum sources of some postharvest diseases of mango.

Abstract : Conidia of Colletotrichum sp., Botryodiplodia sp. and Pestalotia sp., which cause postharvest diseases of mango, were found in acervuli or pycnidia on leaves, mummified fruits and panicles from the previous harvest. The pathogenicity of isolates of these fungi from necrotic lesions on leaves was confirmed by inoculating mature mangoes with them. The relative importance of each inoculum source seems to depend on the time elapsed since the last harvest.
