Abstract : Studies were carried out in mango orchards in Venezuela in 1982 to determine the optimal distance between McPhail traps for the capture of adults of Anastrepha. A total of 27 traps, with Protein Staley No. 7 attractant, was used and 3 distances between traps (36, 48 and 60 m) were tested. Statistical analysis of monthly catches over a period of 8 months showed that the best distance between traps was 48 m.
