Abstract : The insect pests of mango were surveyed in Bangladesh and brief descriptions of the biology of and damage caused by 10 species are given. Species of major importance include the scarabaeid Holotrichia serrata, the curculionid Myllocerus discolor, the noctuid Penicillaria jacosatrix, the pyralid Dichocrocis punctiferalis, the psyllid Apsylla cistellata and the cicadellid Idioscopus sp.
