Abstract : Field grown Tahiti lime and Lula and Booth avocados did not respond to treatment with paclobutrazol (applied to the root zone) or XE-1019 [uniconazole] applied to the root zone or, for avocados only, the trunk bark. Mango trees did not respond to paclobutrazol but, after severe pruning, proved very sensitive to XE-1019 at 1 g/tree, elongation of new growth being reduced to about a half of that in untreated controls.
