Abstract : The effects of 8 plant growth regulators on gall formation by Apsylla cistellata on mango were investigated in Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1979-83. There was no effect on the number of galls formed, but abnormal open elongated galls were formed (in which nymphs of the psyllid could not survive) when 2,4-D was applied at 100-250 and 2,4,5-T at 150 mg/litre, resulting in control of the psyllid. No flower panicles developed on twigs with no nymphal populations.
