Effect of different doses of NPK and NAA, and time of deblossoming on the intensity of malformation of mango inflorescence.

Abstract : In a 1st experiment with the cultivars Dusehri, Sindhri, Langra and Swarnarickha N, P and/or K was applied in different combinations. Inflorescence malformation (IM) was least (30%) in trees receiving N + P + K and it was greatest (40%) in trees receiving K only. In a 2nd experiment with the cv. Dusehri, deblossoming was carried out on 30 January or 7, 14 or 21 February. The least IM (14%) was noted in trees deblossomed on 21 February and most (61%) in those deblossomed on 7 February. In a 3rd experiment with 6 cultivars, NAA at 100 or 200 p.p.m., applied in the second week in January, reduced IM from 35% in the control to 27 and 25%, respectively. The possibility of applying all treatments together is discussed.
