Abstract : Gamma irradiation of shoot tissues, seeds, seedlings, scion wood and both seeds and plantlets cultured in vitro led to retardation of shoot and root growth, inhibition of germination, leaf deformities and chlorophyll streaking. The species used included banana (3 cultivars), Citrus spp., Artocarpus spp., Mangifera indica (4 cultivars) and Nephelium lappaceum. Intercultivar differences in response to irradiation were noted.
