Abstract : Good rooting was obtained in the difficult-to-root cv. Langra by applying IBA at 15?000 p.p.m. to air-layers. IBA at 10?000 p.p.m. applied to juvenile cuttings also gave good results; these cuttings rooted better in hotbeds than in mist. Wounding the cuttings [vertical cuts] increased rooting when 2 cuts/cutting were made; more than 2 cuts decreased rooting. The synergism of NAA and chlorogenic acid with IBA, and of pyrogallol with BA, is also discussed.
